Michigan Works Agencies (MWAs) in Southeast Michigan provide a wide range of workforce development services that helps job seekers navigate their job search, develop employability and technical skills, and helps employers recruit and retain qualified employees, most at no cost to the employer.  Business services include:

  • Posting job opening on site, on line and on Pure Michigan Talent Connect
  • Recruiting and prescreening qualified candidates, including veterans
  • Conducting hiring events, including industry and individual company Job Fairs

REMANUFACTURING ASSESSMENT TOOL (RAT)

Developed by the Rochester Institute of Technology under an NCMS award, this tool helps users identify candidate parts for remanufacturing based on sustainability and cost justification criteria and determine if a product concept should consider key design criteria and best practices that facilitate remanufacturing.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS

The research and development available to southeast Michigan companies are thriving once again. STAY INFORMED: MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS BLOG

MMTC’s blog is a collection of discussions on relevant issues facing U.S. manufacturers. Since 2012, the blog has been serving as a valuable resource for manufacturers, industry experts and interested parties to discuss key manufacturing topics and opportunities. A new blog entry is published every Friday at 9am.

Workforce Intelligence Network

WIN is a southeast Michigan collaborative effort between nine community colleges, seven workforce boards and economic development partners to create a comprehensive and cohesive workforce development system in Southeast Michigan that provides employers with the talent they need for success.  Resources include:

  • Providing current labor market intelligence and prevailing wage data
  • Serving as a resource hub and connection point for regional industries and businesses
  • Improving institutional, local, state, and federal talent development policy through research, thought leadership, and innovative practice.
  • Convening advanced manufacturing industry clusters like InnoState to help ensure employers have the right talent to sustain their engineering, product development and manufacturing capability.
